Griffin™ Midwave Infrared Camera Cores

The Griffin™ camera core is one of the industry’s smallest MWIR sensors made to enable the smallest of cryocooler infrared imaging systems. The Griffin™ captures snapshots MWIR imagery using Attollo Engineering’s advanced HOT Type-II Superlattice (T2SL) detector material. Optimized for low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) applications, Griffin™ sensors provide cost savings at the system level compared to other MWIR options. When purchasing a Griffin™ camera, Attollo offers a variety of features to select from.

Multiple Features to Select:

Cooler Options: Choose between linear and rotary coolers. The Griffin™ 5-R series and Griffin™ HD-8 use a rotary cooler, while the Griffin 5-L series uses a linear cooler. Both coolers provide a fast cooldown and have high power efficiency, making them ideal for small gimbal integration and SWaP-constrained handheld or soldier-carried systems.

Flexible Interfaces: Multiple output interfaces are available, including Parallel, USB-C, MIPI, and Camera Link. These options allow for flexible integration into various systems and applications.

Pixel Pitch Options: Available in 5 µm or 8 µm pixel pitches, Griffin™ cameras enable more pixels on target with shorter focal length optics, reducing the overall sensor size.

Wavelength and Sensitivity: Griffin™ sensors support MWIR imaging with wavelengths from 3.0 to 5.2 µm. Can also be configured for broadband imaging with wavelengths ranging from 0.9 to 5.2 µm, offering capabilities for both day and night laser see-spot.

Aperture Options: Multiple f/# options are available, including f/1.2, f/1.4, and f/1.8, to suit various imaging needs.
