Attollo is seeking to hire an experienced electrical assembler/technician to work closely with and support our rapid paced production manufacturing efforts. In this position you will be heavily involved in the day to day production related tasks such as building, testing, debugging, and documenting production level electronic and optoelectronic systems. Tasks might vary from day-to-day and intense attention to detail is required.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist production with setting up engineering tests for circuit and system bring up and verification testing
    • Regularly operate oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies
    • Follow ESD-safe handling procedures
  • Build up circuit boards and custom cables in prototype test quantities
    • Lead free and standard soldering of components
    • View files and schematics on Altium to ensure correct placement
    • Surface mount components (some limited BGA) with 0402 components size, up to 200 components per board
    • Place solder with stencils with place components by hand
  • Run test routines with control software and collect and export data with computers and notebooks
    • Run programs on Windows computers and enter data into Excel spreadsheet
  • Communicate results and observations with Engineers
    • Present results clearly verbally and with written emails and small written documents

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar environment with extensive hands on laboratory and/or manufacturing support
  • Mathematical skills with ability to perform unit conversions, manipulate decimals and fractions, calculate setpoints
  • Rigorous familiarity with electrical engineering lab test electronics
  • Superb soldering skills of 0402 components

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Strong Windows based PC experience with Excel and Word operation
  • Ability to navigate to schematics and layouts in Altium
  • Can work with defined requirements to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail, Organized and methodical

Attollo is seeking a motivated, experienced FPGA Firmware engineer to develop reconfigurable hardware interfaces and processing capabilities for our infrared imaging and laser sensing application specific integrated circuits (ASICs). You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, system, and optical engineers to develop, implement, and test new firmware capabilities for existing or new sensors. You will need to be familiar with the latest technologies in FPGAs, memories, microprocessors, interfaces, and peripherals. We are looking for candidates that enjoy working on cutting edge technology in a small business environment with the opportunity to make significant contributions and impact to the direction of Attollo’s technology.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in FPGA firmware design and testing
  • Experience with writing, simulating, and testing Verilog / VHDL for FPGAs and designing for optimized performance (power, resource utilization, timing, etc.)
  • Experience with FPGAs (Xilinx and Lattice preferred), Microprocessors/Microcontrollers (STM32 and 16-bit PIC), DDR and flash memories, complex digital PCB designs, high-speed digital data interfaces.
  • Hands on experience testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, signal-generators, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Solid interpersonal as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Xilinx and Lattice FPGAs
  • Experience with STM32 and Microchip microprocessors and microcontrollers
  • Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Camera Link, etc.

Attollo is seeking to hire an Infrared Focal Plane Array (FPA) Packaging Engineer. In this position you will be heavily involved in the design and development IR FPA packaging to include all aspects of integrated dewar cooler assemblies, assembly process development, and tooling and fixturing design.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree: >5 years; Master’s Degree: >3 years

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master’s degree in mechanical engineering

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and support packaging solutions for infrared imaging sensors in cryogenic vacuum environments
  • Develop tooling and fixturing for packaging and system assembly
  • Conduct thermal and mechanical design analysis to ensure compliance with stated system specifications
  • Develop and support new processes for packaging assembly and design
  • Generate component and assembly-level drawings and work within Attollo’s established configuration management system

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with Solidworks for 3D CAD, drawing generation, and finite element analysis
  • Experience interacting with vendors and machine shops for procuring custom components
  • Experience with design and assembly of integrated dewar cooler assemblies (IDCAs)
  • Experience with design for manufacture (DFM)
  • Experience with vacuum systems and material compatibility
  • Experience with precision opto-mechanical design and tooling
  • Experience with epoxy and adhesive selection for vacuum, structural, and thermal compatibility

Attollo is seeking to hire a Process Engineer. In this position you will be involved in developing new manufacturing processes for III-V materials (GaAs, InP, GaSb, etc) for the fabrication of infrared detector arrays in a production environment. You will be developing new processes as well as implementing and sustaining existing ones. In this role you will develop solution paths for open-ended customer-driven challenges, troubleshoot issues utilizing disciplined methods such as design of experiments, and develop process improvements as well as novel processing approaches. The role also includes the following: thoroughly documenting all process steps and training other engineers in their execution; collecting inspection, metrology and test data and interpret results; and presenting solutions to internal engineers, scientists and the management team.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and optimize processes for making optoelectronic devices
  • Develop semiconductor wafers processes around (InP, GaAs, GaSb) into optoelectronic devices
  • Develop advanced sensor chip assembly processes
  • Design process Travelers and Work Instructions with clear instructions
  • Track processes and make notes via process travelers
  • Run designed experiments to improve process reproducibility and increase yield
  • Participate in device test data reviews and suggest process improvements to improve device performance
  • Provide engineering and operator oversight

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience in microelectronic semiconductor fabrication and processing
  • Proven track record of developing processes and solutions to process development problems
  • Experience with the operation of nanofabrication equipment including: photolithographic stepper, metal deposition, dry etching, SEM, plasma deposition equipment as well as dicing, hybridization, pick and place, lap and polishing, and metrology equipment
  • Experience with Design of Experiments and Statistical Process Control
  • Ability to understand and analyze data related to semiconductor device performance
  • Ability to convey data analysis in an accurate and concise format and developing and delivering presentations
  • Experience with creating reports, document tests, and creating and reviewing process documentation
  • Experience handling chemicals and hardware and working in a clean room environment

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Experience in mask design and with mask design software
  • Program or project management experience
  • Ability to mentor team members
  • Works well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills and computer capabilities (MS Office, MatLab)
  • Experience in MES, computer programming and software development
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
