Benefits of Low SWaP Infrared Cameras for Soldiers
A soldier carries anywhere from 40 to 140 pounds or more depending on their mission. These essential items add up on the scale and reduces the warfighter’s mobility. Attollo Engineering is able to provide the warfighter with infrared technology that has low size, weight, and power (SWaP) to provide the tools necessary to have a successful mission without physically burdening the warfighter. Having low SWaP solutions allows the warfighter to maneuver easier in challenging terrain, able to operate more effectively, have greater mobility and agility of reducing the risk of injury- all that greatly improve the chance of a successful mission.
At Attollo our low SWaP infrared camera core sensors are integrated into and onto helmets and handheld systems. Attollo’s line of Midwave (MWIR) and Shortwave Infrared (SWIR) camera sensors are all weighted in grams, not pounds, and are packed with technology.
The Phoenix™ line of SWIR camera core sensor, the Phoenix™ HD and Phoenix™ VGA, weigh 32 grams, which is one of the lightest weighed SWIR sensors in the industry. It measures 20.32 mm x 25.25 mm x 25.25 mm and has an extremely small pixel pitch, of 5 µm, enabling more pixels on target with a short focal length optic. The camera core sensor has the option of being connected via USB3, Camera Link, or Parallel CMOS. The Phoenix™ line of SWIR camera core sensors can be paired with our Precog Imaging to identify laser see-spots to decode laser pulses.
The Griffin™ Attollo’s MWIR line of camera core sensor features the Griffin™ VGA5-R and Griffin™ HD. Both weigh less than 221 grams. Attollo’s infrared camera core sensors can be customized and mounted on top of handheld weapons, helmets, ground machinery, drones, or gimbals that are less than 5 inches round.
