SWIR Imagery Collection in Thick Foggy Weather Conditions
The team at Attollo Engineering was recently in foggy San Francisco, California, to take some stunning imagery of the famous Golden Gate Bridge in Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR). The specific SWIR camera used to take this imagery is Attollo’s Phoenix™ HD. The Phoenix™ HD was able to capture what you wouldn’t be able to see in the visible spectrum. The highlight of SWIR is it can take imagery in adverse weather conditions, such as fog, haze, or even smoke.
The Phoenix™ HD features a 1280 x 1024 high definition format, with 5 µm pixel size. It is the smallest SWIR camera core in the industry at a size of just 27.35 mm x 28.6 mm x 28.6 mm (L x W x H), and weighing 32 grams without a lens. This size makes it perfect for small, unmanned aircraft or drones that require a light payload, without sacrificing technology.
