SWIR Imagery Collection in Thick Foggy Weather Conditions
Camarillo, CA (February 1, 2023) – The team at Attollo Engineering was recently in foggy San Francisco, California, to take some stunning imagery of the famous Golden Gate Bridge in Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR). The specific SWIR camera used to take this imagery is Attollo’s Phoenix™ HD. The Phoenix™ HD was able to capture what you wouldn’t be able to see in the visible spectrum, especially in adverse weather conditions, such as fog, haze or even smoke.
The Phoenix™ HD features a 1280 x 1024 high definition format, with 5 µm pixel size. It is the smallest SWIR camera core in the industry at a size of just 27.35 mm x 28.6 mm x 28.6 mm (L x W x H), and weighing 32 grams without a lens. This size makes it perfect for small, unmanned aircraft or drones that require a light payload, without sacrificing technology.
